AAHH now is see. I watched the movie years back and this is why he is in the corner..... the witch is dragging her into the basement while holding the camera. the other guy is facing the wall because the witch makes others face a wall while killing someone. its a part of the actual story.
If you saw this for the first time with the lights out, I guarantee it scared the crap out of you....
